Pathologically dilated capillaries and very small arteries which can be observed as a late complication in irradiated tissues and organs. It is also associated with certain congenital conditions and can be acquired in combination with other diseases or exposures (e.g. steroids). (Adapted from ICRP Publication 118, 2012)
