Rate of response of a tissue to irradiation. In context of radiotherapy, it means the degree of reduction of tumor volume or tumor cell survival after irradiation. It depends on multiple factors, one of them hypothesised to be intrinsic cellular radiosensitivity. (Adapted from ICRP Publication 118, 2012)
