A beam of radiant energy covering the irradiation field entirely in an approximately conical or cylindrical portion of space of relatively large diameter.
(algorithm): One of the dose calculation techniques for radiotherapy treatment planning. Itassumes that any beam incidenting the patient travels straight on the incident axis through the patient with no lateral blurring. The dose at any point of interest is given as a function of the corresponding thickness to the point on the beam axis.
