Charged-particle equilibrium

Glossary Icon-2.png

Charged-particle equilibrium in a volume of interest implies that the energies, numbers, and directions of the charged particles are constant throughout this volume. This is equivalent to saying that the distribution of charged-particle energy radiance does not vary within the volume. In particular, it follows that the sums of the energies (excluding rest energies) of the charged particles entering and leaving the volume are equal.
