Consequential late effects

In radiation oncology, late normal tissue (in contrast to “tumor tissue”) complications induced by a high dose radiation exposure, which occur as a consequence of a nonhealing acute response in the same tissue or organ. (Adapted from ICRP Publication 118, 2012)
