Epigenetic effects

Glossary Icon-2.png

Epigenetic effects consist of phenotypic changes in the properties of a cell (due to such changes as DNA or histone methylation or action of non-coding RNA molecules) that may be inherited but do not represent a change in genetic information. They influence the phenotype without alteration in the genotype.
