Pericarditis

Inflammation of the pericardium, the membrane that surrounds the heart, frequently attributable to viral infections but in most cases, the cause of pericarditis is unknown. Pericarditis is also known to be caused by high doses of radiation. (Adapted from ICRP Publication 118, 2012)
