Amount, isotopic composition, physical and chemical form of radioactive materials used for calculating radiation exposure, expressed as total activity or activity concentration. Note: source term typically refers to the amount of radioactive material that has the potential to cause exposure after release to the environment, such as after a radiation emergency.
