Monitoring designed to investigate a specific situation in the workplace for which further information is needed. It can be individual monitoring or workplace monitoring. Note: Monitoring can be performed for improvements (ALARA), scientific inquiries, as well as investigation of accidents and other abnormal circumstances. (Adapted from IAEA Glossary, 2016)
