Valvular heart disease

Heart disease due to one or more abnormal heart valves. Abnormally narrowed or leaky heart valves can interfere with the heart’s ability to push blood forward from chamber to chamber, and then out to the lungs, coronary arteries and aorta. (Adapted from ICRP Publication 120, 2012)
